Bheki Sithole is a programmer and researcher who has been involved in research and HIV-related programming among key populations, for more than 12 years. He has worked with different stakeholders in Eswatini including local and international organizations and some government departments. Currently, he is working at FHI 360, EpiC project, as a Technical Advisor.
Bridget is social worker, global HIV/SRHR advocate and an SRHR trainer serving as a country delegate for AGYW on the SSNL in Uganda. Her work focuses on investing in effective community engagement strategies to create and sustain platforms for lasting gains to achieve HIV/AIDS epidemic control and an equitable access to SRHR programs. Bridget is the founder of ACTS101 Uganda; a young women led advocacy initiative where she chairs the board and the AGYW advocacy forum advisory committee.
Churchill Alumasa is a Director at Discordant Couples of Kenya, a Peer-led Organization dedicated to the prevention of sero-conversion amongst HIV discordant couples. He coordinated a large cohort of couples for the HPTN 052 study that birthed PrEP.
With 21 years’ experience in HIV discordancy matters, he chairs the Vulnerable Populations Consortium of Kenya. Churchill is passionate about reducing new HIV infections amongst the vulnerable populations who disproportionately contribute to new HIV infections in Kenya through community HIV evidence-based programming.
I am a Radical Feminist advocate passionate about improving public health outcomes and advocating for wellbeing of adolescent girls and young women .
My role as an SSLN champion in Kenya is to serve as an influencer and AGYW champion and apply learnings from other countries to strengthen the National HIV prevention response in Kenya
Gayé Mobauye Aubin-Désiré est chargé de Programmes Populations Clés à l’ONG Alliance Côte d’Ivoire et Champion pour le Réseau d'Apprentissage sud-sud (SSLN) pilier Populations Clés en Côte d'Ivoire. Il est titulaire d’un Master 2 en philosophie, spécialité éducation et sexualité infantile, aussi expert en VIH et spécialiste populations clés depuis 2015. Enfin, formateur en cartographie locale de la dynamique de vulnérabilité au VIH/SIDA en Afrique de l’Ouest. Étant issu des populations clés, son poste au sein de l’ONG Alliance Côte d’Ivoire et Champion SSLN de son pays pour le pilier Populations Clés, lui permet, entre autres, d’assurer la planification et la mise en œuvre de façon efficace et efficiente des interventions à l’endroit des populations clés, de s'assurer que les activités du programme VIH ciblant les populations clés sont mises en œuvre dans son pays, la Côte d’Ivoire.
A Public Health Physician and current Head of the HIV Prevention program at the Uganda AIDS Commission; responsible for ensuring appropriate National HIV Prevention strategies and guidelines are in place and relevant HIV Prevention programs are implemented by the relevant sectors, in addition to ensuring effective coordination of the national multi-sectoral HIV prevention response.
Seasoned public health and social science consultant with over 10 years' experience in the field. Proven ability to develop and manage HIV prevention, care and socio-economic programs that improve quality of life for the underserved populations including key population and adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in the HIV prevention and care in Malawi and the Kingdom of Eswatini. Previously worked with FHI360 LINKAGES/EpiC USAID funded projects growing local organizations skills on resource mobilization that lead to Pakachere and Centre for People's Development to receive direct funding from USAID/PEPFAR in Malawi. In addition, technical support on implementation of HIV interventions whose findings informed government policy including the introduction of people who inject drugs program, sustainable AGYW service delivery models and HIV service delivery core package for key population.
Dr. David Olusegun Oyedeji is currently the Deputy Chief of Party of USAID-funded Key population Community HIV Services for Action and Response (SFH-KP-CARE 2) Project in 8 Northern states of Nigeria implemented by Society for Family Health (SFH). He has a Master of Public Health degree and had been actively involved in gender-responsive public health program design, implementation, and management with national and international Organizations for the past twenty-six (26 years). He is a passionate advocate of women, children, youths, and key populations. He is a member of the International AIDS Society and have several national and international publications to my credit. He is a country champion and member of South to South learning Network (SSLN) Advisory committee.
Dr. Hermes Gichane is a public health physician working as a Technical advisor to the HIV Prevention and the GBV and Human rights Sections in the National AIDS and STI Control Program. She also doubles as the Adolescents and Young People’s Program lead. With over a decade of experience, she has worked in leadership positions spanning sexual and reproductive health, maternal health, gender-based violence, and HIV program management. She also has extensive experience in clinical service, health service administration and policy review.
Dr. Hermes has developed program guidance materials on HIV and gender-based violence that informed the design and implementation of the programs. She has enhanced the quality of services for survivors, adolescents and young people through a nationwide service quality assessment, mentorship and capacity building of health workers. She has also mobilized resources to support a multimillion-dollar program. She is dedicated to improving health systems for women and young people.
Dr K. K. Owusu is the Lead, Clinical Care at the National AIDS/STI Control Programme of Ghana. With extensive expertise in HIV programme management, he facilitates the effective development and dissemination of HIV-related policies and strategies. He is a public health pharmacist with over 20 years of experience.
