Introduction:

CLM, an innovative accountability approach rooted in scientific principles, places communities at its core. This transformative method prioritizes community needs and voices, fostering collaboration for impactful change.

Objectives:

The session focused on ITPC engaging and empowering Key Population (KP) champions from various countries in the integration of Community-Led Monitoring (CLM) within key population programs, especially those addressing HIV

Proceedings

  • Leoketse from SSLN began this session by welcoming the participants and setting the essential ground rules.
  • Krista Lauer, the Lead for Watch What Matters at ITPC, provided a quick overview of the session's agenda.
  • The engaging session facilitated by the ITPC team featured key contributors such as Nadia Raffif, who focused on building resilient communities, Jelena Bozinovski, who specialises in project implementation, Innocent Liaison, leading engagement and advocacy in CLM, and Nadia Peerun, an expert in data analysis, particularly in the context of key populations.
  • The ITPC team collaborated, guiding participants through the various components of CLM, which encompass Education Evidence, Engagement, and Advocacy. This collaborative effort aimed to provide a holistic understanding of the approach

Question and Answer Session

  • During the Question and Answer session, representatives from participating countries; Côte d'Ivoire, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana, actively engaged, sharing their reflections and offering valuable insights into the practical applications of CLM within their specific contexts. Additionally, they highlighted key takeaways and aspects that stood out from the ITPC session.
